Game Summary
Week #8 the final game of the season Belleville / Albany vs. Lake Mills, at Lake Mills. Wow what a great way to end a season to remember! Belleville / Albany wins 35-21. What started like every other game the last 4 years the other team goes up 14-0. Things did not look good, the offense could not move the ball, and the defense was slow. What was going wrong, was it the long drive to the game? Then the 2nd quarter started it was like the new team showed up to play, the 2002 team! It was at that time I knew the game was well in hand we could run the ball, and our linemen took control on both sides of the ball. Tailback Adam Askey finally got loose for a big gainer, 55 yards and in for touchdown. Adam Askey needed only 54 yards this game to get over 1000 yards for the season. What a way to get it! Adam Askey ended up with 23 carries for 213 yards on the day. Quarterback Collin Wisniewski also had a fantastic day passing 4-6 60 yards 2 TD, (1) 2-point conversion, rushed for 70 yards 1 TD, and (1) 2-point conversion. Wide receiver Billy Stuessy had a day he will not forget with 2 catches 27 yards both Touchdowns, rushed the ball 4 times for 31 yards. Fullback Nathan Clifton had 10 carries for 38 yards, Nathan will be one player to watch in the future! Tight End Cody Schultz had 2 catches for 33 yards, and (1) 2-point conversion, this season by far is Cody's best performance, another player to watch in the future. These kids just took it to Lake Mills from the start of the 2nd quarter, Robbie Kelly recovered 2 fumbles, and got 1 sack. Brock Peters had a huge interception late in the game to seal the victory. The linemen dominated the 2nd half of play, with Robbie Kelly, Tyler Baumgartner, Ethan Schmaling, Nick Watson, Adam Watkins, Justin Hellenbrand, Nick Brugger, and Mike Doyle they wore down Lake Mills to near nothing. In fact Ethan Schmaling was blocking up to 3 guys on some offense plays. The Linebackers and defensive backs also had a great day, after the 2nd quarter started. Neil Pulfer, Chris Cunningham, Brock Peters, Jaren Haser, Chase Sellnow, Nick Murphy, and Keith Gobel all made a difference this season. I feel they all have learned a lot this year, and we as coaches hope this will carry us into next season.

The coaching staff would like to congratulate all the players from the 2002 Belleville / Albany 7th Grade team, on a record breaking season. Many records were shattered this year. Most point scored in a season, 1st 1000 yard running back, most yards receiving, most 2-point conversions, most touchdowns in a season, most players getting touchdowns in a season, best record 4-3-1. The list goes on. On behalf of the coaching staff Head Coach Mike Doyle, Tim Askey, Ernie Pulfer, and Shawn Clifton, we would like to say we are very proud of all your efforts this year, and hope you work very hard in the off season, and return next season with fire in your eyes for an even better season!
