Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii-In 21 days the 2001 Rivals.com Hula Bowl Maui Senior All-Star Football Classic will kick-off when 90 of the best athletes in the country, led by Head Coaches Bobby Bowden and Frank Beamer lead their teams at War Memorial Stadium. While some of the 2000 players are recovering from "nicks and hits" they took in the bowl games, and others are still contemplating their post-season status, the Bowl is very pleased to announce 60 great award winners, All-Americans, All-Conference nominees and team MVP's and captains in the tradition of past games. 30 more players are on-schedule to sign by January 6, 2001. The following highlights some of the major players who have signed:

DREW BREES (QB)-PURDUE UNIVERSITY

Maxwell award winner for the best all-around players in the country; first team All-American by Gannett News Service, Big-10 offensive player of the Year and Big 10 career leader in 5 passing categories

More players will be announced after the National Championship game. The Rivals.com Hula Bowl Maui Senior All-Star Football Classic will kick-off on January 20, 2001 at 3:00pm, primetime (8:00pm) Eastern Time on ESPN. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Bill Curry will be on-hand. Limited seats are available on the sidelines, with endzone special sections available while supplies lasts. The teams will arrive on Sunday-January 14th in the afternoon at Kahului Airport for a week of NFL style practices, activities and camaraderie with players, fans and scouts.
